Ruwida Howari
Founder & CEO
Ruwida Howari is the Founder and CEO of Noorwood Academy, bringing over two decades of experience in education, Islamic schools, administration, curriculum development, and business leadership. She has taught at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, and has served in administrative and leadership roles with a focus on curriculum development and teacher support in Arabic and Islamic education. Combining her background in education, leadership, and business, Mrs. Howari envisions Noorwood Academy as a place where academic excellence, strong Islamic values, and character development come together, preparing students to become confident, compassionate, and successful individuals.
Dr. Dima Kassab
Principal
Dr. Dima Kassab holds a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in Science Education from Wayne State University. She is passionate about creating learning experiences that keep students engaged, encourage critical thinking, and inspire a lifelong love of learning. With experience teaching science and mathematics at the elementary level, Dr. Kassab has also developed curricula that integrate engineering design and hands-on learning to strengthen scientific reasoning.
Sr. Shahnaz Chowdhury
Instructional Coach
Sr. Shahnaz Chowdhury brings valuable experience across private, charter, and public school education, including service as a high school principal in Islamic schools and as a middle school English Language Arts teacher. She holds a Master of Science in Educational Technology from the University of North Texas. As Noorwood Academy's Instructional Coach, Sr. Shahnaz works closely with teachers to strengthen lesson planning, instructional practices, and student engagement. She is dedicated to helping educators build effective learning environments where every student can thrive.
Sr. Israth Rahman
Early Childhood Lead
Sr. Israth Rahman brings many years of experience in Early Childhood Education and is passionate about helping young children develop a strong foundation for lifelong learning. She is actively involved in the local community and values building meaningful connections with families. She believes strong partnerships between home, school, and community play a vital role in helping children thrive and reach their full potential.
Sr. Tazin Hannan
School Administrator
Sr. Tazin Hannan serves as the School Administrator at Noorwood Academy, providing leadership and operational support to ensure a positive and effective learning environment for students, families, and staff. She is committed to building strong relationships within the school community and believes successful schools are built on collaboration, communication, and a shared commitment to excellence.
